His family has run a tategu (traditional Japanese joinery) business for over 70 years, and he himself has spent more than 30 years mastering the craft. He specializes in making wood-framed sliding doors, shutters, and latticed panels—elements unique to Japanese architecture that gently divide spaces with grace. From bold timber cutting to precision work requiring millimeter-level accuracy, he possesses a wide range of refined skills.
